RESTORING THE POWER OF GOD TO THE CHURCH

Instruction manual in brief

All you need to know is written on this website. However, to encourage people to look at the studies and do what is required, here is a summary of the principles that need to be carried out in order that you shall get the end result and restore the power of God to the church. These principles work as well for evangelism as anything else.

There is no short cut to attaining what we desire but if as a church or a group of 12 or so people practice these principles on a daily basis it can be only a matter of time before the desired result is achieved. These teachings are nothing new, these are the things Jesus taught His disciples during the some three and a half years that He trained them.

These same teachings have been handed down from one generation to another and given to all who would be willing to receive and practice them, individually and in a group day by day. These principles always work, it is just that sometimes we get it wrong but if that happens simply go back to the manual and you will be able to get back on course.

Principle No.1 – Relationship

The first main key is that your relationship with God is paramount (the most important thing) Jesus said (when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane just before He was crucified) to His disciples who were sleeping – "Could you not have stayed awake and prayed just for one hour?" (Matthew chapter 26 v 40) This is the real meaning of that verse For Jesus disciples to pray just one hour per day is a minimum for them.

Do not (as we say) try to run before you can walk. Start off by praying to Him in praise and thanksgiving and soon you will build up to praying to Him at least one hour per day. If you have to get up an hour early to do this then you will find it is something you look forward to. Before you even do this, put upon yourself the full armour of God (study can be found here).

Then begin to pour your heart out to Him in thanksgiving for what He has done and won for you through the cross. Without this victory we would still be in our sin and powerless before God. Tell Him how grateful you are that He has forgiven all your sin (past, present and future) and adopted you as His son (do not feel left out if you are a woman), in Him (Jesus) "there is no male and female but all are one in Christ" (Galatians 3v28)

Principle No 2 - Intercession

When you have done this, move on to praying for your brothers and sisters in Christ and the next person on the list that you have been assigned to pray for individually. You should be able to compile a list of members of the church one list of men and boys, another list for women and girls. You should be told of who the person is listed below you and then pray for that person continually then just watch how he or she will blossom in Christ.

Next pray for your leaders, in the church, in the locality and in the government. Pray that God will give them wisdom and insight to do the right thing in His eyes always (1 Timothy 2 verse 2). Never pray against them but continue to pray for them every day. If they bring in unjust laws, pray that God will change their hearts. Pray also for those who are unwell, pray that God will quickly restore them into fellowship.

Principle No.3 - warfare

Pray that your Ministers and leaders will be given wisdom and protection as they meet opposition spiritually and physically day by day. Start by doing this warfare locally later you can get to pray for national and international situation. Do not feel that these things are ever too much for you as you can be very effective individually and collectively, especially when you meet together as a church for a prayer meeting during the week (James chapter 5 verses 14 to 16) are intended to be used in every relevant situation.

Principle No 4 - Pray in faith not in presumption

Before Jesus did any one of His miracles He always did three things. Firstly He would be in constant prayer (if you have a correct translation you will see that Genesis chapter 24 verse 45 and Ephesians chapter 5 v 19 are all referring to silent prayer, so that you are praying and talking to God in your spirit but not making any noise (like if you think a person is going on too long giving a teaching you think in your heart "I wish he would finish there, now." You do not come out with it and say it although you might think it in your heart.

The second thing He would do whenever anyone came to Him for healing would be to ask Father what He (Jesus) should do at this time. He never said or did anything unless it were at the command of God (John chapter 5 v 19) if you pray for someone "in faith" and you have not done these things then you are praying in presumption, not faith. Thirdly He would never do or say anything unless it were at the command of Father, we should do likewise.

Principle No 5 - The power of God upon you

If this has not yet happened to you ask your Minister to pray that you will receive The Baptism of The Holy Spirit and that whatever else gifting God gives you it will be to speak in tongues, which will empower you to do all these things. In Mark chapter 16 Jesus told His disciples: "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. Through the crucifixion of Jesus and the rising again of Him to life means that when you come to believe the gospel (not just with you mind but in your heart) you are then a new creation who is in Christ Jesus.

You do not have the power to do anything that you wish but only what Jesus tells you to do at the time. Hearing His voice and obeying Him will mean that you will accomplish great things for God, only two things can prevent that and they are: Pride (which was the cause of the downfall of satan, and bearing unforgiveness against anyone for anything. If you forgive from your heart everyone who has offended you in any way during your lifetime then you will be a great success in the eyes of The Lord. Always remember that whatever situation you find yourself in, you are totally dependent on Him for everything and will be forevermore. When a child is born nobody expects it to win the marathon race (26 miles) the following week, you will all grow at different paces.

Do not be afraid to make a mistake, for God is greater than our mistakes. Jest continue in daily fellowship with Him and all your brothers and sisters in Christ and God and you working together will do great things. These are not principles that you should choose and practise occasionally, these are things that we should pray day by day. After you have heard this you will be given a short study to take away with you, on it you will find all these principles in brief obey them and you will do well in the sight of God.

Do not be afraid of any challenge the devil may offer you, for you have Christ Jesus in you and He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world. Stand up, resist the devil and he will flee from you. If he reminds you of your past, remind him of his future, in the lake of fire to undergo torture, day and night forever and ever. While this is going on we will live with our God forever.
